Relocation of Servers

I know a handful of you experienced a significant owntime earlier this year with one of ours servers, and we simply cannot and will not allow an error of that magnitude to happen again.

Therefore, As part as our improvements for 2012 we have decided to switch from our current provider in Kent (who has been fantastic over the years) to a new provider who operates out of BlueSquare 2 in London. The reason for this is that our new provider can provide a higher standard of support to us as well as an improved SLA for hardware replacements etc.

Over the next few days, we will begin the process of moving all of your data onto our new servers. Please rest assure that you WILL NOT experience any downtime when we are relocating to the new server, and we will let you know when the transfer is complete. New namservers will be provided in a further email which will be sent out before the transfer process starts. Clients who have purchased domains with us will not have to as we will take care of this. Users who have a dedicated IP address and/or SSL Certificate please contact our technical support department to request new dedicated IP address and SSL Cerficiate.

How to Install cPanel/WHM

Hello and Welcome to the first in the series of our cPanel Tutorials.
This step by step guide will take you through the steps of how to install cPanel/WHM.
The guide will take you through the simple steps installing cPanel. Also outlined below are the minimum requirements needed to install cPanel.

Minimum Requirements
Processor: 266MHz
Ram: 512mb
Disk Space: 10 GB hard disk
OS: CentOS

Recommended only to run cPanel – More required to host multiple accounts.

WHM\cPanel Installation
To start the installation process you must use the following commands in SSH.

cd /home
wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
./latest

Explanation
cd /home – Opens /home directory
wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest - downloads the latest installation files from cPanel.
./latest – Opens and executes the installation files.

Its as simple as that! cPanel may take a few hours to install but this is normal. After cPanel has been successfully installed you should now then Login to WHM using root username/password and configure.
